One of my favorite, most creative escort seating charts to date! Ashley knew from the get-go she wanted her guests listed on old, mismatched wooden cutting boards. She spend a few months slowly building up her collection, finding them from various sources all over, and had them sent to me to write on. It was so cool— there were so many old markings and dried stains on them, so much weathering! It was fun imagining all the hands that worked on them, all the meals prepared with them, and families that used them.
Writing on them was tricky! I used white paint and transfer paper since there was no room for error on such a tricky medium, with none to spare. Spacing is always the hardest part to figure out on signs like these. The prepping, planning, and math work that goes in to escort signs are what takes many hours over the course of many days— much longer than the writing itself! But it’s all very worth it— the better you prep and plan and map it out ahead of time, the more the writing seems like paint by numbers in the end. :)
