Maria and Max came to me with a ton of flexibility, and really open to a bunch of ideas I had to bring some special signage and touches to their wedding day. They got married at the Beach Plum Inn on Martha’s Vineyard. She wanted a touch of blue for the tables and loved the idea of the agate stones, as something guests could take home with them, and served as functional (but beautiful) place “cards.” I always advise that white lettering pops the best on most of these types of surfaces. Generally, if someone wants silver, it’s decided after I make a few samples that white has the same effect, but is easier to read. (FYI, gold is gorgeous on these stones, too.) The chalkboards were meant to set the tone for a relaxed reception, but still with a ton of thoughtful touches and sweet illustration.
Pro Tip: the sandwich board style chalkboard is a GREAT choice for outdoor weddings. Not only do you not need to worry about finding a stand or an easel, but you can make two signs in one, and just turn it when you need to display the other side!
